VIEW State Council was formed on 29th May, 1962
The first club in Canberra was formed in July 1970 and VIEW became “National”.  However, the First National President’s badge was not presented until the Changeover Luncheon on 8 November 1971 for 1972, when VIEW became formally NATIONAL for those on National Council.

Through all of these years Country Clubs, which were those outside the Sydney Inner and Outer Metropolitan areas, Newcastle and  Wollongong, did not have full representation on National Council.  These Country Clubs now included clubs in other states, ACT, Victoria and Queensland.

Following discussions at a Seminar in November 1988, which all Zone Councillors attended, Areas, as first envisaged by the VIEW Constitution, were formed during 1989.  This gave all VIEW members equity on National Council and National Executive.

It was decided for the year 2000 that there would be three Vice Presidents without any differentiation – 1st, 2nd and 3rd would be omitted.  Clubs are shown at the time Executive held their position
