MY VIEW
What a view I have from up above
Watching so many ladies with so much love
Giving freely to under-privileged little girls and boys,
Birthday presents and Xmas toys
The meeting begins and the minutes are read
The Delegate reports children are warm in bed
The dates are arranged – the ladies have fun
Catching trains and having morning teas in the sun
They sing and dance and carry on with silly rot
And all to provide schooling of a little tot
Counting and adding up all the sums
Cheques from the Treasurer – TSF get the funds
The ladies eat and chat for a little while
And some go to such trouble dressing up with style
With Guest Speakers, Parades and Bring and Buy Stall
All for the Kids – to educate them all
Different Clubs throughout Australia all having Fun
Sharing laughter and stories with everyone
Putting a smile on every child
Causing their little world to be more worthwhile
It makes me so emotional - I shed a little tear
For proudly I say – I had vision that year
It was in 1960 I saw the light
For Disadvantage Children to learn to read and write
